On the day of the Holy Great Martyr George, 16.11.2025. – Đurđic, the Vraćevšnica monastery celebrated its “preslava”. In addition to the monks from Voljavča, Miljkovo and Kovilj, the Archbishop was welcomed by a large number of believers. The Hierarch, Metropolitan of Žiča, His Excellency G. Justin, served the Holy Liturgy with the parish priest, Father Božidar, and the retired dean from Gornji Milanovac, Father Čeda. The people gathered during the Liturgy to such an extent that the Metropolitan had to give a sermon in front of the church. In addition to the importance in all recent historical events from the 19th century onwards, His Eminence drew everyone’s attention to another very important figure of the monastery, namely Mother Ana Adžić (Abbess 1949-1975).
The celebration of her death anniversary is set for November 23, 2025. The annual magazine BOGDAJ, named after her orphanage in Bitola, will be presented then. This event will be great for the entire contemporary consciousness of all those who live not only in Serbia and the region, but for all who call themselves Christians. The manifestation, we hope, of her holiness will only shake the public in that wonderful, refreshing way that only Orthodoxy knows how to do.
